Shell and Tube HE Floating Head Cooler/Heater
Introduction
Floating head heat exchanger has one end of the tube plate called the floating head, which is connected to the shell, when this tube is heated, the floating head is free to expand and contract, eliminating the stress of temperature differences.
Working Principle
One end of the floating head heat exchanger tube plate and shell fixed, while the other end of the tube plate can float freely in the shell. The shell and tube bundle are free for thermal expansion, so no temperature stress is generated between the tube bundle and the shell when the temperature difference between the two media is large. The floating head end is designed as a detachable structure, so that the tube bundle has easy to insert or withdraw the shell (can also be designed as non-detachable), which provides convenient access for maintenance and cleaning. However, the heat exchanger structure is relatively complex, and the floating end of the small cover in operation can not know the leakage, so special attention to its sealing during installation.
